Rentomojo Flagship Experience Centre

Creating a Benchmark Retail Experience

The flagship experience centre was envisioned as the physical embodiment of Rentomojo's evolving retail identity. Unlike conventional furniture showrooms, the objective was to create an immersive environment where customers could experience products within thoughtfully curated lifestyle settings rather than as isolated displays.

This project became an opportunity to validate the retail principles established during the broader retail transformation while introducing a richer spatial language and a more immersive customer experience.

How do you showcase an extensive furniture portfolio without overwhelming the customer?

THE CHALLENGE

Problem Statement

Neighbourhood stores successfully helped customers visualize furniture within home-like settings, but they were limited in assortment and scalability.

The flagship format introduced a new chall

The design needed to support:

  • Larger product categories

  • Higher customer footfall

  • Flexible merchandising

  • Seasonal product launches

  • Efficient customer circulation

without compromising the simplicity that defines the Rentomojo brand.

DESIGN APPROACH

Rather than recreating individual homes, the flagship adopts a category-led showroom strategy.

Furniture is organised into clear product families with generous circulation, long visual sightlines, and curated focal displays that encourage exploration while making product comparison effortless.

The architecture acts as a neutral framework, allowing the products to become the primary visual experience

DESIGN INTERVENTIONS

  • Product-led Display Strategy

  • Created open and flexible display environments that maximise visibility while maintaining contextual styling.

  • Spatial Hierarchy

  • Introduced primary circulation spines, visual anchors, and category zoning to simplify navigation across a larger retail footprint.

  • Brand Expression

  • Integrated a restrained material palette, architectural detailing, and lighting strategy to communicate the Rentomojo identity beyond traditional branding.

  • Flexible Merchandising

  • Designed display systems capable of accommodating seasonal campaigns, new launches, and evolving product assortments with minimal spatial intervention

IMPACT

The flagship established a new retail typology within the Rentomojo ecosystem by demonstrating how large-format stores could improve product discoverability while strengthening the overall brand experience.

It also became a benchmark for future flagship developments, influencing merchandising standards, display planning, and spatial organization across subsequent projects.

REFLECTION

Designing a flagship is fundamentally different from designing an experience centre.

While neighbourhood stores focus on helping customers imagine a home, flagship stores are designed to communicate the scale, capability, and maturity of the brand.

The success of this project lies in creating a showroom that feels expansive without becoming overwhelming—where every display contributes to a seamless and engaging customer journey.
